Okay, I will play devil's advocate for a moment, and say a) a contract is a contract, and b) I noted the part of the article stating many of the bonus recipients had nothing to do with the financial mess and subsequent bailout.
::):mad:
So, many are claiming if they don't get bonuses, there's no reason to stick around. Fine; I'm sure there are plenty of qualified, unemployed folks who would be willing to step in and do their jobs. >:( Without bonuses. >:( Don't let the door hit you in the ass when you leave.
Second, what happened to the government stating they were going to tax these bonuses at 90%? Enforce it! These people are talking out both sides of their mouths: "We love this company, want to do the right thing by the taxpayers who bailed us out...but only if we get our money." If it were an issue of actually getting pay, as in salary, that's one thing. This is different. :mad:
The only thing I would add to that is this grrrrrrrrrrrr :mad: :mad: :mad:
Yeah, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr :mad:
;D
If memory serves me correctly, the excuse was, when they found out they could not just tax companies that were bailed (all bonuses from every company in the US would have to be taxed 90%) that put that idea out to pasture.
>:( Oh, I thought the individual recipients were going to be taxed. :mad:

Okay, so this ____________ wants to quit but will still get several million in severance compensation?! :mad:
I've said this before, and it bears repeating: there is something wrong with pay structures, period. Entertainers make too much; athletes make too much; executives waaaaayyy too much. The people who truly make things happen in the world don't make nearly enough (soldiers, scientists, ditch diggers, field workers, civil servants, etc.) - and this is just WRONG. :mad:
Quite frankly, the materialistic mindset is causing the downfall of this country and mankind in general. It's gimme, gimme, gimme, and not enough give. :mad:
I agree with you 100%. They should just be happy they have a job........
