Once again, the announcers on ABC are kissing Texas arse. The first possession ended with an Oklahoma field goal. Texas is being lauded as successfully defending their goal when it was two overthrown balls at two open receivers that forced the 3 point play.
and the beat goes on.....
Well....we've only made two field goals but that's six more points than the Longhorns have!
Maybe Bradford will make a 3rd quarter reappearance. I'm thinking he might NOT be that badly hurt. Maybe it's more pain than strain. Let's hope!!
IF the defense can hold on without tiring and IF Jones can get some time from the offensive line, I think OU could win this!!
Boomer!!!!!
I wondered where TU's running game was. I guess they found it at halftime.
Both teams played hard. One lost in points but neither are losing teams!! ;)
Venables failed to make adjustments after the half. He failed to respond to the changes. I was wondering why some of our receivers' hands are so slick they can't hold onto a ball. :o I grew weary from all the reviews. ::) Can Texas say they got the revenge they've wanted? No, because the circumstances are so different. Did Texas look like a top 10 team yesterday? No.
It seems that the ONLY Texans wanting "revenge" are the armchair quarterback variety that are too busy crying to educate themselves on WHO voted for the BCS ranking method. Bob and Mack sure know. You know, I know. What's wrong with them?
With the exceptions of defending against the running game AND the butterfingered receivers, I feel the Sooners played hard all the way and should be commended for stepping up when certain key players were out. I think Jones is gonna be more and more of an asset to the team as he matures!
Yep my buddy, Jones is doing a fine job and is really showing alot of maturity for a freshman. His game will continue to improve, and hopefully the receivers will catch up. What was the deal with the running game? Do you think the defensive line just got tired, or was it miscommunication on the sideline?
I cannot understand how Southern Cal is right back in the National Championship picture. Is the Pac-10 conference that strong? They lost to Washington.
Thank you Oregon!!!
Well, OU - Nebraska is about to kick off. Any predictions on the score? Nebraska has a great defense, but so do we. Our offense isn't so good, particularly the offensive line, which may be a problem against the studs Nebraska boasts on their D-line.
However Nebraska's offense STINKS. This may be a fairly low scoring game, though I doubt Nebraska will score more than 10 points. If we can manage more than 10 points, I think the game is ours.
Can anybody believe Baylor knocked off Missouri in Columbia? Yeah, the Big XII North is hurting. K-State's probably going to be the sacrificial lamb to Texas this year. I wonder how Tebow's head is feeling these days? That hit will forever be etched in my mind. Come up'ns I'm thinking. Those east coast media folks hold him up like he's some sort of a god. More like a glorified fullback who can occassionally throw. We'll see where he goes in the draft.
B O O M E R !!!!
This is the worst team Bob has fielded since he's been in Norman, and that includes his first year, which was '99. Stephen Good has to be the worst offensive lineman I've ever seen play in my life. His last name is ironic, because instead of 'Good' it should be 'Sucks'.
Similarly, Trent Williams is an over-rated, over-weight waste of space. Kevin Wilson called perhaps one of the worst offensive games in the history of the game last night. And Landry Jones, couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. I haven't been ashamed to be a Sooner in a really long time, but last night I was. I was even entertaining the thought that Landry had bet on the game and was throwing it to ensure his winnings. Bob Stoops has some serious rebuilding to do. I think he needs to clean house. Last nights' game showed us all a few things, but mainly that this season is lost, we have not a single offensive lineman with any skill, our offensive coordinator has no imagination or has a serious problem preparing, and our quarterback needs to stop telegraphing his throws. Sheesh. They played like a bunch of third grade girls. And no offense to third grade girls.
You should have turned over to channel 9 and watched the ultimate fighting Hagrid. The Fedor-Rogers fight was great while it lasted. You could have watched it and not missed much of the OU game.
Stoops SHOULD clean house. Something else he should do when his "starters" (as, okay, START something!) are out there with their thumbs in nether regions is to go ahead and say, "Screw it. I'm not getting any production, so I may as well give one of these bench warmers some play time." After the fiasco Satuday, what would've been the problem with that? He also needs to remind his athletes they are on scholarships and should be earning the same. OU doesn't deserve to be in any bowl games this season, for sure. >:(
Hubbysez ~ order a cup of shut up and remember the Nineties. Course, we're not fair-weather fans either.
Oh, Ultimate fighting ~ as much as I hate violence was better.
;D Don't fear, hubbysez, I'm not abandoning ship - but I sure see some shaping up to do on the boat! :D

Any football fan will enjoy this.....hope you don't mind Norman, OK. NFL films did this......I was at the Steeler/Cowboy game LY and was sitting beside a cowboy fan (his first trip to Heinz Field) and we were down, and all the sudden "Renegade" comes on......I told him, cowboy's in trouble.......the place erupts, and BAM!!, interception.....
Nothing like being there................
Okay, so yesterday's game was more like the OU we know and love. Not because they won, but because they played a better, smarter, more aggressive and competent game. The offensive line did their job, hooray! The pressure was taken off the kickers to win the game! Much better; even if they had lost I would still say MUCH BETTER.
