Doesn't seem to be a whole lot going on at the moment but I do keep checking back from time to time hoping it gets some action and I won't feel so lonely. :smile:

They are, and their repetitive defamatory content leading to continuing lawsuits was the straw that finally broke the camel's back leading to Topix killing their national forums - just like what happened to CNHI's national forums. They both operated under a flawed business model where thy thought they could exploit defamation for profit and not have to pay the piper for doing so.

Those trolls are still around doing exactly the same thing, only this time on someone's personal offshoot forum, and he's allowing the same crap, including multiple sock use, and he's just stupid enough to not realize he's legally responsible for what he allows and abets on his forum. He'll get an education too.

Topix finally shut down its forums due to the continuing actions of certain groups of trolls that were resulting in repeated lawsuits. Topix's business model didn't allow for any sane moderation against registered members so Topix had members posting defamatory content willy-nilly and hence the lawsuits. Topix had already been admonished by numerous state's Attorney Generals and had been a party to innumerable lawsuits. So, they were losing money primarily due to their flawed business model and would rather shut down the forums than moderate the worthless troll members they had left after those trolls had run off all the decent clientele.
