Hoosier Park - Bankrupt!

Hoosier Park has been in the local news lately, over the fact that they have or are in the process of filing for bankruptcy. Last year the "racino" made a long and very public plea to the governor of the state for an adjustment to the outrageous licensing fees it pays to the state. (Far and above that paid by its competition within the very same state).

They warned that if they did not get an adjustment that this would be the result; they didn't and here we are. . .

Unfortunately this entity has now become one of the top employers in this city, and despite the extreme drop in revenues being spent within the facility due to the national economic downturn, the state doesn't seem anymore willing today to provide them with any relief. What happens when this place also closes its doors?

There have been numerous hotels built surrounding this facility as well, and one has to wonder what is going to happen to them if the "racino" ceases to exist? All these great new buildings, some of them massive in size, will go empty. . .

No one cares?
