Internet Dating...Pros and Cons

I absolutely love the internet.  But I don't like internet dating!  I have seen too many times and heard bad things about internet dating.  And recently had it touch my life in a very personal way.  A very dear friend of mine, met a guy via internet.  Moved to his city, to be murdered by him some 8 months later.  Now her four children don't have a mother.  If you are going to engage in internet dating, please be very careful.  Run a background check, find out where this person lives, works, hangs out, criminal history...etc.  Before you agree to meet them.  That is just my opinion, what's yours?

If you cannot find a date within your present community, that should be telling you something. Why impose whatever that is telling you upon a global arena?!

Good point Palehorse, but it's not that cut and dry.  The technology age has turned a lot people into loners.  They don't bother to go out to mingle anymore they just turn on their computer.  That is the bad part.  You never know whom or what kind of person you are chatting with.  It's a very slippery slope.  Dating websites should come with a warning sign.  Enter At Your Own Risk!!!
