There are several issues that I disagree with Obama on but his race(s) have nothing to do with any of them. I DO get tired of seeing posts from the opposition that may not be but sure sound like "angry racist rednecks". If your "National Geographic" comment toward a well educated, former professional woman was about education and NOT a racial reference, you have my apology for misunderstanding.

If we could get Clinton back in office, I WOULD buy him a cigar. He left the country in a lot better shape than Dubya did EXCEPT that a few rich people were paying what they thought was too much in taxes and there were a few restrictions on what the financial world could do to the public for profit. I didn't like him lying to the grand jury but that whole matter was more of a  partisan politics "witch hunt" than an issue that affected the nation. I also didn't like the NAFTA deal but one can't expect to like everything they do. Right now, I'd like to see more of a push FOR the people instead of OFF the people.

When the rich and powerful get to change things the way they want. When we get sold tainted, toxic, genetically modified food that causes disease WITH the governments blessing, we aren't a democracy. As this situation gets worse, conservative ideals and liberal social change gets left behind.
Dog will HUNT!

At least he would have an excuse for not reading legislation.

Or

No palm notes for him.

Or

No one would accuse him of relying on teleprompters.

Here ya go, Terry:

SAO PAULO — Voters the world over complain about having clowns for politicians, but Brazilians embraced the idea on Sunday by sending a real one to Congress with more votes than any other candidate.

Francisco Everardo Oliveira Silva, better known by his clown name Tiririca, received more than 1.3 million votes in Sao Paulo state in Brazil's presidential and congressional elections. That was more than double the votes of the second-placed candidate in Brazil's most populous state.

Tiririca caught the attention of disillusioned voters by asking for their support with the humorous slogan: "It can't get any worse" and a promise to do nothing more in Congress than report back to them on how politicians spend their time.

"What does a congressman do? The truth is I don't know, but vote for me and I'll tell you," the 45-year-old said in his campaign advertisements.

The clown, whose stage name means "grumpy," usually appears in public wearing a blond wig, a red hat and a garish outfit. He survived a last-minute attempt by public prosecutors to bar him from running because of evidence that he is illiterate.

His candidacy may not have been as spontaneous or innocent as it might appear.

Tiririca's well-financed campaign will help elect other politicians because under Brazil's election rules he can pass his substantial excess votes on to other candidates in his coalition, which includes the ruling Workers' Party.

" IF" 'i' read between the lines correctly, Sarah is going to be in the running & "WE" think Obama is 'bad'!

Can anyone honestly believe that a failed/quitter governor and reality TV hostess could actually make a good president?

where have all the leaders gone

From Publishers Weekly
Iacocca, the bestselling author and former president of Ford and Chrysler, is back to sound a howl of anger against the sad state of leadership in the U.S. today. Iacocca starts with a rundown of sins committed by George W. Bush and his administration, and then moves on to criticize the American auto industry-naturally, he's furious over over the sale of Chrysler to Daimler-Benz. Along the way, Iacocca rails against the lack of leadership in vital national concerns such as health care, open markets and energy policy. Iacocca may not have a whole lot new to say, but he is always engaging, even when spinning his wheels over the current crop of presidential hopefuls   ( :'( Sad isnt' it? ) or recommending that Congress take a year off from enacting laws or spending money.  ::O:  ::D: RIGHT!  The book's strength lies in Iacocca's emotional honesty, which shines when he details the reasons he passed on a Presidential run, how he felt when his wife died and his frustration at the poor decisions he's made during his retirement (fessing up to voting for Bush in 2000 and handpicking the executive who sold Chrysler to the Germans). Iacocca is a genial person to spend time with, but his insights no longer carry the weight that made his autobiography, Iacocca, a runaway bestseller.

Iacocca is outraged. Now 82, he has seen the U.S. overcome some of its worst crises, including the Great Depression and World War II, through great leadership. As the CEO of Chrysler Corporation, he brought the company back from the brink of bankruptcy and worked with the government to overcome the fallout from the 1970s oil crisis. Now, he says, our government has fallen under the grip of arrogant ideologues and spineless detractors.   (( Our business leaders are more obsessed with stock options and trumping each other's multimillion-dollar salaries than with finding creative solutions to pressing problems, such as the health-care crisis, our loss of competitive edge in the global marketplace, the massive trade deficit, and the slow death of the middle class 'me'. )) He describes his frustration as his successor at Chrysler sold out to Daimler-Benz, and the once proud, independent company lost its soul. Although Iacocca presents a brutal analysis of cronyism in Washington, D.C., the abysmal situation in Iraq, and failed policies at home, he is not a pessimist. With a reputation as a straight shooter, he hopes to inspire more young people to vote. This is a surprisingly outspoken take on the pressing need for real leadership in this country. David Siegfried
