Law of Logical Argument - Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about.  ;)

"You've probably noticed that opinion pollsters go out of their way to include as many morons as possible in surveys ... I think it's dangerous to inform morons about what their fellow morons are thinking. It only reinforces their opinions. And the one thing worse than a moron with an opinion is lots of them." -- Scott Adams

In other words: Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  ;)

As a rule, the American populace tends to place certain public jobs on a pedestal - law enforcement, firemen/EMT's, the military - and imbue them with all sorts of mythical qualities.

The truth is, how ethical/moral are those who hold those public jobs, and how worthy are they of the public's mythical accolades when it can be shown time and time again they aren't acting in society's best interest when actions such as the above are exposed?

I posit we are not going to be able to institute meaningful reform until we de-mythologize those public jobs and the people who perform them.

What say you?
