What say ye?  Do the law abiding citizens of Arizona have the right to
defend their communities, and State against invasion by another country's
people?

If the Federal Government fails to do it's job -- then by all means -- each state should be allowed to do what the Federal can't or won't!!!

I was watching all the marches today on the various news channels.
Ostensibly, these folks are marching for, and demanding "rights" for
illegal immigrants. That came as a real shock to me. I had no idea the
illegals had rights, other than being arrested humanly, incarcerated
humanly, and transported back across the border humanly. Did I miss
something?

What concerns me is that law-abiding, American citizens will ultimately suffer the most under this law, as victims of racial profiling.

Yes, I know the law forbids it, but how else can one establish reasonable suspicion of illegal status other than racially?

"how else can one establish reasonable suspicion of illegal status other than racially"

You might start by cruising by the local "Home Depot", and if you see a bunch of
folks standing around, or jumping in the back of slow moving work trucks, say 10 at a time, you
could check them out, regardless of their race. All illegals are not Mexican, ya know. If a cop was
walking a beat, and spoke to some folks, greeting them with good morning, and he/she got a
reply that was in a language other than American/English, that might be a clue, even if the persons
were not dark skinned. In short, language, demeanor, and attitude can tell a trained law inforcement
officer a lot about a person. There are many clues other than skin color.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE as they are affectionately known by their
illegal immigrant buddies now is refusing to process the illegal immigrants arrested by law
enforcement officials in Arizona.

This is sending a very bad message to illegals, IMH&LO.

Come on folks. Is there honestly so much disinterest in this subject? This is a major deal,
yet I can get No comment, not even one seriously, reasoned response. What a bunch of
bone heads.

It's a sick day in this country when the President of Mexico can stand before our president and Congress and spew his garbage about our immigration laws and get a standing ovation from those traitors. Mexico law is far more stringent than ours. Our president, Mexico's President and Congress are a group of hypocrites.
CAUTION: Doesn't play well with liberals!!!

Not sure how I feel about this one.............I'm all for it, but it is such a fine line of 'profiling.

If you are NOT legal in this country.........get the hell out, but if you are here, paying taxes like the rest of us and contriburiting to our 'way of life', then I'm all for you being here...............do me a favor..........SPEAK ENGLISH.

When we got orders for Germany, we took some german classes so we could 'speak the language'..............we have patients that have been here for YEARS.............. and can't speak one word of english...............that is just sad.

This GREAT nation is the 'land of the free and the home of the brave'.............you come here to have a life............LEARN THE LANGUAGE!!
Wherever you go.........there you are.

Just how much of an inconvenience is it to be stopped and asked for your I.D? Folks,
we are at war. We are being invaded daily, and our national government is doing next
to nothing to protect us from this invasion. I am honestly surprised other states have
not enacted similar laws, and I am especially disappointed with Texas, my home state,
for not acting more aggressively to stem the flow of "illegal" immigrants from Mexico.
The opponents of the Arizona law would have us believe we, the legal U.S. citizens are
the wrong-doers here, and that the illegal immigrants or the ones being subjected to
illegal acts of profiling, and prejudices. They would have us believe that a certain ethnic
group of people is being targeted, when in reality it is law breakers, criminals who are
being targeted. These illegals, criminals are not being picked on, or mistreated, but only
subjected to, and made accountable to our laws. I am of Scottish/Irish ancestry, and it
and it is very obvious, but should I be stopped and asked for my I.D., after leaving a
pub, I would not cry profiling, or racism. I would simply show my I.D., proving my legal
status in the U.S., and go on my merry way. All this outcry, and push back against the
Arizona law is nothing more than an attempt to muddy the waters and distract from
the real problem...we are at war.

Simmer down.  All is well in the border towns.

It would appear the U.S. Justice Department will now sue the State of Arizona over the
state's new immigration law. If the Feds won't enforce the immigration laws we now have
in place, the states must do so, and if the laws are not going to be enforced, then we might
as well have an open border. Hell, we damn near have one now. Now, many bleeding
hearts are calling for a "path to citizenship". I got news for you bozos, we have had a
path to citizenship all along. It's called "naturalization". The process is explained in detail,
in Article I, section 8, clause 4 of the United States Constitution. I honestly do admire, and
respect the Mexican people, but I sure as hell don't like the disrespect they are showing
"we the people" of these United States. If the economy and the unemployment situation
is ever going to make a significant recovery, the "illegal" immigration issue must be addressed
in an aggressive, and legal manner.
