Field reporter or stripper?

The New York Jets are under fire for supposedly being quite inappropriate towards a Hispanic female reporter in their locker rooms. Are the boys going too far or are the ladies flaunting their wares a little TOO much around a bunch of guys high on adrenaline and testosterone?

I've seen a fair amount of Hispanic television so I can say without a doubt that their views on women and sex are obviously different than America's. Lot's of leg, lot's of breasts and a lot of burlesque style situations where the ladies "accidentally" show more than they intend to. Possibly, this is a clash of cultures instead of being wrong doing on either party's side.

I just watched an interview with Ines Sainz on NBC. According to her, there is not that much of a problem between her and the players. She says that the situation got bigger than it was when the media and the women's group got involved. I can totally see that. The media will play her as a victim while at the same time, inserting an occasional picture of her to show how she "tempts" the players. Play both sides as long as you can.

In a country that claims to strive for equality, WHY is it that a female reporter can go into a men's locker room(while they are changing) but men CANNOT go to the women's locker room. Double standard? Maybe interviews need to be done in a press room afterward? What do you all think?

I'm thinking the league needs to ban ALL locker room reporting and interviews and restrict access to player and team personnel ONLY!

Eliminate the temptation and the cultural clashes will have to take place within the public forum, wherein they will be tempered by social pressure!

Whoo

I saw some pics of this chick and yep, her jeans were so tight (as well as her shirt) they looked painted on....personally, I don't see how she was comfortable. :o

That being said, interviews shouldn't be conducted in the lockerroom.  I say use the press rooms, and everyone has equal access at the same time.

But back to this gal:  she's catching some old time flack, the old "she's inviting these remarks because of the way she's dressing".  Well hell - maybe, just maybe, she dresses the way she does because it makes her feel good about herself and not anyone else!  She's going in there to do a job, and that doesn't give these players license to be deragatory toward her.

I agree, Whoo. Wanting to "feel sexy" is not the same as wanting to "feel sex". Actually, the cheerleaders were showing more skin than her.  ::;:

I think the media got their blood on this one and now it's just yesterday's news. Maybe she'll get to do a piece on Oklahoma Women's Basketball.  ::O:

What do you mean by that, Palehorse?  Careful, careful, lesbians are reading....

Just to clear things up, in case, sexuality was not where I was going with that. I put that in there because it would be nice to see a NOW nationally prominent sports reporter come to our local college and do a story on them. Of course, I was also playing on Whoo's love for the team.

I saw where one of the players was sniping at her for dressing that way and coming into the dressing room. He said something to the effect that it is natural for the guys to act that way if she comes in.

I'd say that millions of dollars in payment to run around a field is enough to make them think of the team's needs instead of the need to be nasty to her!
